Remember when I used to blog regularly? It’s been quite a while, but here we are again. Seeing Luke Combs perform at this year’s Grammys clicked my memory. I’ve been wanting to do these photos justice by sharing more of them so I finally put together a new little blog post for you.
In late 2022, I had the unique opportunity to attend David Bergman's Shoot from the Pit workshop during Luke Combs’ concert at the Bell Centre in Montreal. David has had a long career photographing sports and music and is currently country music star Luke Comb’s official tour photographer.
I was one of 5 photographers who spent the day backstage with David learning about the industry and the craft before shooting the whole show that night. The openers were Chayce Beckham and Riley Green, then the stage and lights were cranked up a notch and Luke came out to a roaring crowd.
We were totally independent and my pass allowed me to go anywhere I wanted (except on stage), including just inches from Luke in the pit. This was an unbelievable experience and such a blast. Shooting a concert of this caliber was intense and exhilarating. I learned a lot about photographing live music and look forward to putting the new skills to use in the future.
I’m forever thankful to David and Luke for this amazing opportunity!
Enjoy!
