It goes without saying, this year has been completely different than any other year in business. At times it was stressful, sad, and defeating. It obviously wasn’t a great year to be in the business of large gatherings and big celebrations. But looking back on these photos it’s much easier to appreciate the positives of the year and feel fortunate that I was still able to capture so many moments.

It was a tough year for all of us but on the other hand it was a restart, a challenge to overcome, and a year to put everything into perspective. Clients adapted, changed plans many times, and appreciated relationships more than ever. While photographing this year I noticed over and over again that people seemed so happy to just be together and they didn’t take it for granted. I saw a greater sense of calm from everyone, and a bigger appreciation for our Island more than ever.

Due to the cooperation of all Islanders we were very lucky to be able to gather in small groups, hold small weddings, and open our bubble to Atlantic Canada for a few months. In the end, I still photographed some weddings, met lots of new people, and shared many great days with clients new and old. Even after a wild year, I once again feel fortunate to be a photographer on Prince Edward Island.

This 2020 collection is a toast to everyone who made the most of a difficult year and still found joy in the moments big and small.

Enjoy!
